The Villa Maria winery is a place of exciting stories, where wine plays the leading role in every tale. A wine produced by the Panigai family with passion, expertise and more importantly respect: for biodiversity, for the landscape, and for the men and women who have always lived here in symbiosis with the cycle of the vine.
The Counts Panigai have ancient origins, dating back to the year 1080, and since that time the family has cultivated a special relationship with its territory. The family vicissitudes go hand in hand with those of the area, from the time winegrowing started along the Linea dei Castellieri (line of fortified boroughs) between the hillsides of Farra di Soligo, through to the epic story of Prosecco Superiore D.O.C.G winemaking.
Falcomario Panigai is now heir to this legacy of passion and expertise, which has been passed down from one generation to the next, transforming Villa Maria into a place where history is savoured in every glass of wine, through a combination of tradition and winemaking innovation.
The path leading from the vine to the glass is for us a virtuous circle in which nothing left over from the various cultivation processes goes to waste. Every step is aimed at optimising resources: from recovering biomass, which enables us to obtain organic matter essential to maintaining the natural balance of our soils, to the use of solar energy to power the entire production cycle, which takes place inside the winery.
OUR LANDThis unique landscape consists of rows of vines, steep banks and centuries-old trees as well as buildings, houses, barns and outbuildings where very brick has a tale to tell and contributes to creating that magical atmosphere of familiarity and hospitality in which Villa Maria is steeped. To preserve this heritage over time, the winery underwent major restoration work in the early 2000s, thus allowing technology to be combined with tradition.
Today inside the historic buildings, once home to sharecroppers, we directly manage the entire production process in accordance with a closed-loop supply chain, using the most modern technological equipment. This allows the process to be optimised and excellent wines to be produced.
